The music ministry at PCAS is deeply valued by the congregation, and enhances worship in ways that are too profound to describe in words. The congregation actively participates in singing and the level of participation is a testament to the role of music in worship. We engage a wide variety of musical styles to further reflect the inclusiveness of our mission statement, and we are proud to include traditional, contemporary, blended, and multicultural music (sometimes all within the same service!).
The sanctuary is equipped with a brand new Hauptwerk organ and frequently makes use of auxiliary instruments including the piano, djembe drum, tambourine, windchimes, and handbells. In addition to our Director of Music, the congregation is blessed to include some deeply skilled professional musicians including composers, vocalists, a flautist, and a concert organist, all of whom are eager to offer their talents in worship. Those who enjoy singing or playing handbells are especially welcome to join one of these ministries.
The choir consists of a wide variety of experience levels, and all are welcome to join. You do not need to have any previous experience, and you do not need to know how to read music. However, you do need to be dedicated to teamwork, pay close attention to details, and have a healthy sense of humor. The singers in the adult choir certainly know how to have fun! We sing every Sunday and share that joy with the congregation. The choir plays from September to June and Rehearses every Thursday 7:00pm-8:45pm
The Bell Choir was formed in the fall of 1998 with 3 octaves of Malmark handbells. In fall of 2010 Robyn Ioviero became its director. The Bell Choir rehearses every Thursday 8:30pm-9:30pm.
This page contains videos of various Bell Choir performances. Note that it could take up to 30 seconds to laod because of the number of embedded videos.
